Juliette grew up in a sewing family. Her maternal grandmother was formally trained as a tailor, and her mother started sewing at a young age, making her own suits by the time she was in secondary school.
Juliette was sewing on a machine by age 7 and made her first collared shirt at 12 years.
Juliette expanded her knowledge of sewing and fabrics by studying Textiles & Clothing at the University of California at Davis. She earned a Bachelor of Science after completing courses in Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, Retail Science, Pattern-making and Marketing.

After joining the Association of Sewing & Design Professionals (ASDP) in 2005, Juliette continued her education in clothing construction and design through courses and workshops offered at annual educational conferences and by highly respected sewing educators.
